Taking Action is what Matters…

Had the privilege late last night to be on a training webinar & heard something that really resonated with me. I’ll bet it will with others too…

I’ve been a victim of self sabotage. I’ve been the kind of person in the past who would “get ready to get ready,” or as others call it, analysis paralysis or even information constipation. I’d be a perfectionist, thinking I need to get all my ducks in a row first before I took action.

The problem, ducks NEVER get in a row. The key in life is to have an idea & plan just enough to take action. We learn more through the process of taking action & then can work to perfect things later.

Take action & feel good about yourself & worry about the details later.

Can anyone else affirm this with a real life example?

Something Close to my Heart…

Saw this from a friend’s post (thx Tony for reposting). U.S. Census Bureau through 2015.

Going to be real here…We NEED more fathers to be present in their kids lives. PRESENCE is WAY more important than presents. Children’s love language is NOT stuff, it is quality time. They need to be told that you love them, that you believe in them, that you have their back no matter what. That there is nothing they cannot accomplish if they believe in themselves, because you do.

This world is falling apart because I hear no one talking about family values anymore. There is ZERO leadership coming from government. It is NOT their responsibility, it is ours to raise our children properly. Who is really talking about this stuff. Well, I AM. A strong family unit, founded on God’s principles & His way of doing things will give our kids an amazing foundation to build on.

My passion is to play a role in helping more dads rise up to the challenge to lead their children by example, to show them what winning in ALL areas of life looks like, that it is NOT weak to lean on God, that it is a sign of wisdom & strength to seek out help. To teach our children to be respectful of others & to be thankful & appreciative for those things they have. To pursue excellence in all areas of life through personal growth & personal development. That serving other people is what brings true peace, joy & fulfillment.

Life is too short & we have a responsibility to grow with our children. Memories, experiences & solid relationships are vital to their ability to grow into mature, responsible, respectful adults…

Did you know that…

43% of children live without their father in the U.S.
90% of homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes
80% of rapists motivated with displaced anger come from fatherless homes
71% of pregnant teenagers lack a father
63% of youth suicides are from Fatherless homes
85% of children who exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes
71% of high school drop outs are from fatherless homes
75% of adolescent patients in chemical abuse centers come from fatherless homes
70% of juveniles in state operated institutions have no father

Actions Speak WAY Louder than Words…

Intentions have worth ONLY when they are put into action. To succeed at the level we desire, we must have FOUR things:

1) unwavering belief in ourselves
2) a clear vision of the goal we pursue
3) a positive attitude
4) take massive action

We can have the first three but without #4, nothing changes & we don’t accomplish that which we desire. Getting ready to get ready, or analysis paralysis, has been an area I’ve had to confront. 2016 is my year of action!

Which of the four do you need to work on the most right now?

Life is Richest Living in the Present

Sometimes I don’t want to think about where my focus is but if the goal is to live with peace & joy, every day, than I have to confront my thoughts & where my attention is.

The more time we spend in the present, the richer our lives will be. Being present in NOW, gets us out of our heads & focused on the moment, how to maximize our time & truly live.

Glad I read this as I needed this reminder. How about you?

Attack Fear!

A friend had reminded of this quote by Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) in the movie Point Break. Great quote!

Fear is just bad all around. It’s likely always going to be there so it’s how we handle fear that determines if it will have an effect on us.

This past week I had the opportunity to confront something I was nervous/fearful of. I have hesitated in the past but am proud to say I ATTACKED my fear &, wouldn’t you know it, things turned out way better than ever.

Don’t let fear become your master. Master fear & your life will truly thrive!
