I am an active observer of people, both those who are successful and those who are not. It is interesting to see the characteristics and actions of each.
I can relate because I have been on both sides of the aisle. Doing things that never got results and finally figuring out other things that catapulted me to my goal extremely quick.
Too many people focus too much of their time, energy and attention on the minor things, the things that do not have any importance. As an example, a business owner’s number one priority is to focus on revenue-generating activities: prospecting, setting meetings, presenting, submitting proposals & working to “close the deal,” and begin a long-term mutually-beneficial partnership. What many do, & I have caught myself at this MANY times, is to focus on organizing my gmail folders, creating spreadsheets that provide client information, build systems, see what competitors are doing. Now, those tasks ARE important but most of the time should be invested on things that can produce income.
Or, there might be that individual who is in a financial bind, only working one job. He watches TV in the evenings and does backyard parties on the weekends. Again, nothing is wrong with that. But, if there are financial pressures, that individual needs to hustle. Get a second job, sell stuff from the basement or garage on Craigslist or eBay. You get the idea. Nothing wrong with having fun but the goal is to focus on the things that matter, that get RESULTS!!!
The bottom line is we MUST be self aware. We must know what trips us up and steer clear of those things. We need to go ALL IN on our strengths and not give our weaknesses a second thought. We must focus on the things we are good at and work at tasks that will yield maximum results and help us achieve our goals.
We need to MAJOR in the MAJORS !!!
