“Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny.”
A quote, I believe, was made by Ralph Waldo Emerson. So many have called it their own but it does not matter.
The idea is that everything starts with our thoughts. What we think influences everything and is determined by our world view or perception of how we see things. If we are negative and always seeing the worst, it will be hard to ever succeed in life. If we blame other people for why we have not succeeded, victim mentality, will never get you where you want to go.
The key is to control what influences you and that begins with the people you associate with and the books you read, along with all other forms of input on social media etc. If you surround yourself with people that are fighting to succeed and taking the necessary action and are seeing progress, you will become just like them. If you read great personal development books versus the newspaper, you will experience progress.
It is all about making small, daily decisions that can help you get closer to your goals, not further away. You see, the hardest part is making the decision to succeed and control this stuff. From there, it’s a matter of managing that decision, daily, with the right inputs and the right corresponding thoughts.
How are you doing in your thought life? This might be a great time to take inventory of your thoughts and see if they are helping you get closer to your goals or further away.
